Garden Ring Museum
This is the only museum in the city devoted to the history of the oldest Moscow’s district — Meshchansky. The home of the Garden Ring Museum is an 18th century cozy mansion which was destroyed during the French occupation of Moscow in 1812 and restored later. In Soviet times, it was divided into communal apartments and, finally, became a museum in the 1970s. In 2022, it became a part of the Museum of Moscow family.
The main exposition tells the story of Meshchansky district since the foundation of Moscow until modern times. Here you will see a collection of history pieces, from archaeological artifacts to journals and soviet banners.
